Revelation 20:13-15New King James Version (NKJV)

13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Do you really go to heaven after dying?

Only if you have earned a place there- so work on it now.Answer:According to the Bible... the dead go to the grave, just as we know it to be:"...for IN THE GRAVE, where you are going..." (Eccle.9:10 NIV).The Bible further reveals that there is a "spirit IN man" that:"...returns to God who gave it." (Eccle.12:7 NIV)Nowhere does the Bible say anything about "bad spirits going to hell" or "good spirits going to heaven" -- but everyone's spirit returns to God who gave it.The Bible foretells of a future "Judgment" at the conclusion of man's allotted time God gave him to rule on earth that it calls "The Last Great Day"... or "Judgment Day." It's slated to occur at the end of Jesus' "thousand year rule on earth" [Rev.20] after He returns from the heaven, into which He ascended long ago.Men's spirits, that returned to God at death, will then be returned to a "resurrected body" to then face Judgment:"...(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.)... ...I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne... The dead were Judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books." (Rev.20:5 & 12 NIV)And Jesus tells us:"No one has ever gone into heaven except the One who came from heaven -- the Son of Man." (John 3:13 NIV)Therefore, according to the Bible: No... no one goes to heaven after dying. We all go to the grave [if there's a body to bury]... and every man's [unjudged] spirit returns to God who gave it. And the dead are what the Bible says: "asleep" [see John 11:11-14] and awaiting the "Last Great Day" of "Judgment.""...man is destined to die once, and after that to face Judgment ..." (Heb.9:27 NIV). [the time of that Judgment foretold elsewhere in Revelation 20, a thousand years after Jesus returns to earth."...the dead know nothing..." (Eccle.9:5 NIV).

Does the bible talk about which way the dead will rise from their grave?

As far as I'm aware, the only way they could rise is up. You don't call it rising if they go any other direction. The Bible is not horribly specific about the details.

Does the Bible say that you will stay in your grave when you die or will you go up to heaven as soon as you die?

"...there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, IN THE GRAVE, WITHER THOU GOEST." (Eccle.9:10) The Bible says WE... the real us... the DIRT, for dust we ARE and to dust we shall return... goes to the grave (the Bible says our "spirit" returns to God who gave it, but that's another matter). And we stay in the grave until Jesus returns at the last trump... at which time the FIRST RESURRECTION from the grave will occur. The resurrection of His saints. "According to the Lord's own Word, we tell you that we who are still alive (Paul thought he would be one of the faithful still living on earth when Jesus came back), who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep (Bible talk for being DEAD). For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and THE DEAD IN CHRIST WILL RISE FIRST..." (I Thess.4:15-16 NIV). We are dead (asleep) and dormant in the grave until Jesus returns. The rest of the dead will resurrect from their graves a thousand years after the first resurrection - (Rev.20:5). "So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest APPOINT ME A SET TIME, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time I WILL WAIT, TILL MY CHANGE COME... (see I Cor.15:51-52). THOU SHALT CALL, AND I WILL ANSWER THEE..." (Job 14:12-15). The world awaits the resurrection of the dead.
