This depends on where the horse is at. If it's in the wild it will find grass on the ground along with edible weeds. It may also strip bark off of trees in the winter and lick minerals and salt from rocks. In captivity they will likely find their food in a bucket or hay net.

well if it is a wild horse then it would help hunt food for their herd but if it was a run away horse it would find some water to drink, some green grass.
