put the key in the shifter
Just call a mobile automotive locksmith to come to program your Nissan Altima's key. You can also tow your vehicle to a dealership and they will program the key.
For now the car dealership is the only one able to program the Nissan smart key. You can buy the key themselves on Ebay.
I'm assuming yours has push button start. the mechanical key should always stay in the key fob. it will only unlock the door and glove box manually. if the battery should run down in the fob just stick the fob with key in it in the slot below and to the left of the steering wheel to start.
You have to go to your local Nissan dealer and it will cost about $110 dollars to get the key and another $100 to get it programed to your cars computer.
First, stick the entire key into it to the ignition and start the engine. When you stick it in, there will be two lights that will either flash or stay solid around it. This will help you to find the second key hole in the 2013 Altima.
