looking from the front of the engine the firing sequence on the distributor is 2,1,3,4 i.e the right hand terminal on the distributor goes to number 2 plug second one goes to number one plug third to number 3 plug and fourth to number 4 plug
Get the proper replacement wires. One end goes on the spark plug and the other goes on the distributor cap. They are connected to the distributor cap in order,so do not place one out of sync.
18436572 firing order, there will be a mark on the distributer that indicates #1 and #8 will be the next plug going clockwise
302 it goes toward the back of the engine-----point it at the driver.
no comment i just need the answer where is the number one spark plug on the 307 distributor cap
On most cars the firing order is stamped on the intake manifold. the only thing you will sometimes will find on the distributor cap is the number 1 showing the location of the wire that goes to the number one plug.
The number one plug is the one on the drivers side front of the engine. Therefore the plug wire connected to that plug is number 1 and where it connects to the distributor is the number 1 position on the distributor. If you have removed all the plug wires then you will have to remove the spark plugs, turn the engine over until the number 1 cylinder is at top dead center (TDC) on the compressions stroke. Once it is at TDC then the rotor inside the distributor will be pointing to the number 1 position.
To find where number one spark plug wire connects to the distributor, remove the distriutor cap and set number one piston at Top Dead Center (TDC). At TDC, the rotor should be pointing to where number one spark plug wire connects.
The wire sequence on the distributor cap just goes 1 thru 6, clockwise, starting from the number one position (which should be marked either on the cap or distributor).
Yes the rotor should be pointing to the #1 cylinder when you are installing the distributor.
One end goes on the spark plugs, the other goes on the distributor cap.
They are numbered 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 , with #1 being the one where the spark plug goes to the FRONT plug on the Drivers side of Engine
