No-where. When you smoke - the tar from the cigarettes gradually coats all the surfaces of the lungs.. Over a period of time - this reduces the amount of space that air can occupy, forcing the smoker to take more breaths in order to get their normal oxygen intake - and makes them breathless when they exert themselves. Eventually, it can get so bad that the ONLY option is a lung transplant - assuming they live long enough to get the operation !
