Santa Claus started as a guy called Saint Nick who gave presents to all the children in his village every year on Christmas. Santa has nothing to do with Jesus. The Santa appearance we know today was invented by Coca-Cola.

As far as is understood, it arose in the Germanic and possibly also Scandinavian countries with cold winters and indeed, the use of Reindeer as draft animals. Claus- short for Nicholas, is a popular Dutch and German name ( it is almost unknown in France, there are no St. Nicholas churches in Paris, unless possibly Orthodox Russe ( Russian Orthodox). That"s the straight truth ( pun intended). The unusual angle of presentation is the Swiss have a holiday wildly celebrated on December 6 ( the traditional St. Nicholas) that climaxes in parades with wild whip dancing, drumming, and characters marching abous with huge outsized hats ( resembling Bishop"s mitres, not jester"s caps)- the holiday is called the Klausjagen ( roughly, Klaus- Hunt!) and has everything to do with St. Nicholas the bishop- but NOTHING to do with Christmas. It is only celebrated in Switzerland.
it began at the kringle household because the kringles needed someone to bring the toys they made over to the children in the next town, he later needed to change his name because the mayor of the town hated toys and he wanted him arrested so he changed his name from Kris kringle to santa clause becasue when he was left on the kringles front step when he was a baby he had a name necklace attached to him which said clause.

The legend of Santa Claus started way back when we weren't born. Saint Nick ( Santa Claus) made many many toys. He wanted the whole world to love and see his toys. But then a terrible man told Santa that he had to leave cause he wasn't making a lot of money. He rode on a boat and rode till they saw an land. He saw and then he saw elves. They had magic and then he wished that he can makes toys for all the children.

There was and is a St.Nicholas, who is feted on the church calendar on Dec. 6 and thus is just outside the advent season, the run-up to the Christmas tide. Strictly speaking St. Nick is just outside the perimeter of the season. My parents were married on Dec.06,.so this stands out. In Switzerland there is a holiday called the Klausjagen ( roughly Klaus-Hunt) This involves a parade of men in odd costumes with outsize hats resembling Bishop"s mitres. It has nothing to do with Christmas or the common idea of Santa Claus but does honor his namesake. It is not considered part of the Christmas season, for reasons explained above- Nick is just outside of Advent. so it goes. Clausism peaked in the Germanic Countries and oddly one German handle for Herr Claus, is Kris Kringle- which is indirectly derived from Krist Kindle- li, The Christ Child- which is where the focus should be! again things happen with languages.

Santa Claus originated from a real person, who was the dumbest boy in the world and unfortunately his mum gave him Down syndrome from smoking crack as a pregnant woman. the only reason people believe in santa is because mum is the worlds mum as she gets banged that much she gave birth to 100 children at a time. his dad would beat him with a stick as he did not love him and just wanted him for his small maggot which he shall have for the rest of his life! has no teeth that's why the milk gets drank but the cookies don't get ate incase of breakage!

The story of Santa Claus generally started in Germany. He was actually known as a saint, but the story expanded over time to say he gave gifts to all children.
