Transmission lube goes in on the side of the transmission under the car.
No you cannot swap a 94 into a 96 626 and vice versa. But you can use a 96 Ford Probe transmission in a 94 626. Check www.car-part.com for a list of transmissionsin your area. The listing will show alternative vehicles that the same tranny came in. I use it all the time when hunting compatible parts.
torque spec for automatic transmission pan bolts = 96 to 120 in-lbs. - Haynes Repair Manual #36071, 1993-2005 Ford Ranger and 1994-2005 Mazda B-Series Pick-ups
Yes. Under the car on the upper side of the transmission you will find a plug. Remove the plug and if lube comes out or you can feel lube with your finger, it is full. Use the same hole to add the lube listed in your owner's manual.
Check the lines for the transmission fluid that run to and from the radiator. It could also be a bad gasket.
You put it in the same place that the dipstick comes out of. Passenger side back near the firewall I believe.
Manual and auto have no dipstick
Should be a Borg Warner top load same as a corvette
if the fluid in your T- bird has never been changed before... DO NOT change it now unless your ready to pay for a tranny overhaul or a rebilt. The new fluid will (9 times out of 10) cause your seals to start leaking. ask a tranny expert who is not after your business.
Exactly what is stated in the owner's manual. Nothing else.
Following for recent models, may apply to your 96 in part. VW recommends you NEVER change the tranny fluid. Most mechanics disagree, if you are going to keep the car beyond 100k, you should change the oil every 60k or less. I don't know the details, but you must use the tranny fluid recommended by VW. No other. You have to drop the tranny pan and let all the oil drain out. Replace the filter. Replace the pan. Add fluid. Do NOT use the "flush" method promoted by many shops. It can damage the tranny.
Where is location transmission plug on Mazda 96 626
the 96 thunderbird was only available in an auto tranny.. the 4R70W, this is the same auto tranny that the 96 - 04 mustang v6 and gt have, so you should have no problems.. hope this helps!
