Take the wheel off closest to the gearbox, then you can clearly see the Automatic Transmission Fluid drain plug. Its just behind the brake caliper.

The 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer has a 5-speed manual.
I believe that your 2006 is similar to my 2000 and 1996 models. When you drain the fluid via the drain plug on the driver's side of the transmission, refill is about 4 quarts. This is not the same as the total capacity of the transmission because you cannot drain the torque converter this way. Changing the fluid every year is the best way to extend the life of your transmission.
I really doubt that there is a drain plug for the tranny, usually you have to unbolt the tranny fluid pan and take it down to get to the filter and drain the fluid.

Remove fill plug on transmission, followed by the drain plug. After the fluid has completely drained, reinstall the drain plug and fill with 2.25 quarts of 75w85 manual transmission fluid (or 75w90) USE API GL-4
