The tilt of the axis is such that the North pole is further away from the sun in December and that is why we have winter time in the northern hemisphere. this means that at the same time the south pole is closer to the sun and summer time occurs there in December.
Mars rotates in about the same time on it's axis, so it has a similar day length of 24 hr and 38 min.
The sidereal rotation period of Mars - one spin on its axis relative to background stars, is 24.623 hours. This is very similar to the earths sidereal rotation period.
Time is plotted on the horizontal axis.
A position-time graph, is one in which position is plotted on the y-axis and the time is on the x-axis. A position-time graph is similar to a distance-time graph, but direction of motion in the y-axis.
Due to the earths precession (How the earth 'wobbles' on its axis) the pole star changes over time. Though this takes many, many years

Definition of solstice: two days of the year on which the noon sun is directly overhead at either 23.5 south or 23.5 north. I dont know about equinox but i know how solstice is related..So my answer is.... It's related to the earths axis because when the earth is rotating the sun hits north and south but not really at the same time. So that's why north or south would be 23.5 degrees .
The direction of the "point" of Earth's axis of spin does not change (at least not noticeably on human time scales - there is a 25 thousand year precession). The orbit of the Earth round the Sun means that the north pole of this axis of spin is pointing towards the sun in Summer, away in Winter and sideways in Autumn and Spring.
If the Earth's axis was vertical - every point on its surface would have the same length of day and night, no matter what time of year it was. The tilt of the axis (to about 11 degrees) means that, as the Earth rotates, and travels around the sun, the length of day shortens and lengthens throughout the year.
WinterWhen the north end of the earths axis is tilted toward the sun, the northern hemisphere has summer. At the same time, the south end of earths axis is tilted away from the sun. As a result the southerns hemisphere has winter.
The earth's axis is an explanation of the tilt towards the sun. Currently the earth's axial tilt is approximately 23.44°. It is believed that past ice ages started when the axial tilt changed. The tilt is regulated by our moon. Without the moon, the earth would experince very significant differences in axis tilt over time which would make life on earth impossible.
Summer and winter
Parallelism of AxisThe earth is constantly rotating as it revolves about the sun. It rotates on an imaginary axis. The earth's axis always points in one direction. Thus as the earth revolves about the sun, the position of the axis at any one time is always parallel to the position it occupied at any previous time. This phenomenon is called parallelism of axis.It always points to the pole star.
A solstice is the time of the year when the difference between the length of day and a night is at a maximum. At the Summer solstice the North Pole is at its maximum tilt towards the sun so that the Tropic of Cancer is facing the sun. At the Winter solstice the North Pole is at its maximum tilt away from the sun so that the Tropic of Capricorn is facing the sun.An equinox (literally, equal night) is the time of year when the day and night are of exactly the same length. These happen during the Spring and Autumn: the Polar axis is perpendicular the the Earth-Sun axis: the sun is directly above the equator.
Mars rotates in about the same time on it's axis, so it has a similar day length of 24 hr and 38 min.
The angle of magnetic North form Earth's true North (the axis of its rotation) drifts slowly with time. See the related link below for a detailed explanation.
