Click on the red button that says "sync" on the Wii, next to where you put an SD card. Than click on the red button on the Wii remote next to where you put the bateries.

It's possible your remote is not SYNC-ed yet with your console1. Open the Wiimote battery compartment and press the red SYNC button.--- The remote's player lights will flash2. Turn on the Wii3. Open the Wii SD Slot cover and press its SYNC button
I had the same problem. You have to do a synch with your second remote and the Wii console. The second remote has a synch button that you can see when you open the battery compartment. The synch button on the wii console is behind the SD slot door. Hit them simultaneously while in Toy Story Mania and the second remote will be recognized. After that, hit the small "+" button to play along with player 1.Here's a copy of the detailed syncing directions:Press the Power button to turn on the Wii console.Open the SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console.Remove the battery cover from the back of the Wii remote you wish to sync.Press and release the red SYNC button inside of the SD Card compartment on the Wii console.Press and release the red SYNC button below the batteries on the Wii remote. The syncing is complete when the blue LED on the Wii remote stops blinking

If you want to be 1st player. Either restart your Wii and be the first to press A, or press home/remote options/recconect controller. If you can't get the Wii remote to connect at all, open up the battery cover on the remote, and the small door covering the sd card slot on the Wii. Both should have a small red "sync" button. Press them at the same time.
There's a red button inside the remote's battery compartment and another one in the SD card slot on the console (right above the eject button and below the reset button). Push the 2 red buttons simultaneously and they will sync

If you mean the remote, you have to first get a blue tooth adapter and sync the remote to it. Then depending on what you want to do you will need to get some software. For example there is software that lets you use the Wii remote in place of a mouse.
