Boston. That is why it is called what it is called. The Son's of Liberty threw the tea in the harbor because the British lowered the tea tax not raised. Sam Adams and Hancock were smuggling Dutch tea into the colonies and the cost of their tea was higher because of the British actions so they threw the tea.

The Boston Tea Party was held in Boston Harbour because that was where the Americans, (commanded by Samuel Adams told them to dress themselves as Mohawk Indians) had to throw 342 chests of tea into the water. The 342 chests of tea were in the tea ships which were anchored at Boston Harbour.
It was held in Boston Harbor, in Boston Massachusetts Bay Colony. There were three ships. The Dartmouth, Eleanor and the Beaver.
