About two years after his birth, Lincoln's family moved from their farm in Sinking Spring, (located in current day Hodgenville, Kentucky), about 6 miles north east, to- Knob Creek Farm, Kentucky. The land was not owned by the Lincolns, Thomas Lincoln leased it, and farmed it, with the goal of returning to Sinking Spring.
