There are many species of milkweed which the Monarch can utilize. One can encourage Monarchs and create a butterfly garden with milkweed plants. Once you attract monarchs to your garden with milkweed, raise them and observe their fascinating life cycle. Monarchs populations have seriously declined in recent decades due to habitat loss and other factors.
