That would be the world's largest train station. Assuming you mean train service, it is possible to get from North Carolina to Illinois by train on AMTRAK. There are two North-South lines with stops in Rocky Mount, Wilson, Selma and Fayetteville in the east, and Greensboro and High Point in the west. There is a line through Raleigh-Durham that connects the two. You'll need to get up to either Richmond or Charlottesville, then head west through Cincinnati and Indianapolis to get to Chicago.
