Tewksbury, Mass. has no major rivers. The Shawsheen and the Merrimack are in other towns. Flood plain is the area that would be underwater if a river flooded. Although the area around Silver Lake and Lubbers Brook in Wilmington, near the southern part of Rt 38 in Tewksbury is pretty flat, it still would not flood, because of the small likelihood that Silver Lake would ever overflow.

Areas where rain overflows the streets during storms might be considered to be flood plains in a small sense.
