There is no scripture that says: "guardian angel(s)."

Of angels, Hebrews says: "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?"

From this, some people may derive a "guardian-like" connotation regarding the role of angels. Although... it might lead to the tendency to think of that "guardianship" in a "physical sense" -- like as a "bodyguard" or something.

In this inspired passage, the word translated "serve" [or service] is:

"diakonia" -- "...attendance (as a servant, etc.); figuratively... aid, (official) service (especially of the Christian teacher...". (Strong's Definitions)

The KJV translates "diakonia" in this passage: "... minister...". And elsewhere throughout The Bible as: (ad)minister(-ing, -tration, -try), office, relief, service(ing)."

We read of the two angels who went to Sodom, who "ministered" to Lot... advising him to "get out of town, fast" [Gen.19].

Part of their role involved the "physical blinding" of the mob gathered outside Lot's door.

We read of "ministering angels" being of "service" to the apostles:

"...the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is a sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation, and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, Go, stand and speak in the Temple to the people all the Words of this life." (Acts 5:17-20)

This resulted in the apostles being taken before the high priest again... who reminded them that he had "commanded them not to teach in Jesus' name." To which Peter replied:

"...We ought to obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree... We are the witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey Him." (verse 29-32)

Through their fear of the people... the council had the apostles "beaten" and released with the same command not to preach or teach in Jesus' name. The "ministering angel" of God didn't "protect" them from this physical suffering, but:

"...they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. And daily in the Temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ." (verses 41-42)

The Bible speaks matter-of-factly, regarding angels. Like the two angels who went to Sodom [Gen.19]... angels appear to us as "men."

Never, do you read of God's ministering angels "possessing" anyone, like "unclean spirits" do... which Jesus constantly "cast out" of people.

Of God's "ministering angels" Hebrews says:

"Keep on loving each other as brothers. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it." (Heb.13:1-2 NIV)

As did Abraham: "The LORD appeared to Abraham... while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby..." (Gen.18:1-2 NIV).

One "man," it's revealed, was the "angel of the Lord"... and when their visit ended... "two of the men" turned and left in the direction of Sodom [verse 22], which continues in the next chapter ["The two angels arrived at Sodom..." - Gen.19:1 NIV]. But Abraham spoke longer with the "third man."

"...Abraham remained standing before the LORD." [verse 22]

We know the LORD's name, today, as "Jesus Christ" [John 1:3 - "All things were made by Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made."]

"Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing My Day; he saw it and was glad... I tell you the Truth... before Abraham was born, I AM!" (John 8:56-58 NIV)

The Bible speaks of angels with an air as common as "breathing." ['An angel appeared' -- as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Which it is to God... if not to unbelieving man].

The Bible says nothing about "guardian" angels. But according to the Bible... they're everywhere in the world -- good ones and bad ones.
