Well, let's see. There are two ways to answer this question. 1. By a specific quote - which is probably what the questioner is asking for and . . . 2. By the common inference of man being automatically higher than that of animals This, really to the Bible, is common sense. You don't have to go to far to see phrases such as . . . Ge 1:26 ¶ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. That is in the first chapter of the first book of The Bible. As I said above - you really don't have to go too far to see that this is so. All you really have to do is start reading - with an open mind and just use the good common sense with which God has equipped you with. Not so much further is . . . Ge 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Here we see man's inherent eternity through the breathing of God's breath of life. Of course, God's breath of life has within it the power of eternity. Therefore man became a "being" - for he had being within him. Being as in - always will be from the start. That is why the death penalty is given later on for the offense of murder - note, that this is never given for the death of any animal. I could go on with various examples such as animals were sacrificed by man thereby hinting that man is indeed above animals or maybe touch upon the everyday things such as man has the ability to reason, to think, and most of all to choose right or wrong and animals only have a nature which responds to commands or situations but never makes a valued, calculated decision to do right or wrong. But, let's face it, if this doesn't answer the question what will? I think some people are so religiously bigoted that they will never really seek the truth.
