Jesus was whipped, though The Bible doesn't say how often(Matthew 27:20-31)(Mark 15:15)(John 19:1)(Prophecy:Isaiah53:5 / Luke 18:32-33).
For his 'crime' he was most likely given the maximum 'allowed by law'...40 (Deuteronomy 25:3),though the Jews usually did just 39 to prevent 'accidentally' going over the allowed number.
Paul, however, said that he (Paul) had "..five times received forty strokes less one. . ."
at the hands of the Jews. (2 Corinthians 11:24)
No it doesn't.
The scourging of Jesus is spoken of, but no count is given.
Matthew's Gospel
Mat 27:26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.
Mark's Gospel
Mar 15:15 And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
Luke's Gospel
Luk 23:22 And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.
John's Gospel
Joh 19:1 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.
As that was the punishment for blasphemy.
They thought Jesus was lying about being the Son of God (which is 100% true) so they whipped him 39 times as a punishment. But that isn't important because 3 days later, he rose again from the dead. And offers us all eternal life!! To start a personal relationship with Jesus, pray this prayer.
Dear Jesus,
Thank you for all you have done for me. I believe that you have died for me so that I may be saved by my sins. I ask for forgiveness and that you come into my heart, my life and take over. I don't want to go back to the old way I was living but start a new life. Help me to lead others to you, God. I want to live for you alone. Help me to trust you in everything. Thank you Jesus.
Amen
The Bible does not explicitly state that Salome is Jesus' sister. Salome is often identified as the sister of Jesus' mother Mary based on passages in the New Testament, but the exact familial relationship between Salome and Jesus is not clearly defined in the biblical text.
The Gospels often state that Jesus read and studied Scripture, or read and studied the Torah (Depending on the translation). This means that Jesus read, studied, and lived by the Bible!
* The Bible does not state that the world will end in 2012. * Here is my answer...the Bible says that Jesus is coming soon...it's does not say a certain time.
The Bible does not state the names of the demons.
It doesn't. Jesus was Jewish. The term Christian used to describe the disciples of Christ in Antioch in Acts 11.
Nowhere. After Jesus' resurrection, and a short period of 40 days on the earth, he ascended to heaven.
no one knows. the bible did not actually state which king brought gold or even the names of the kings.
Colossians 1:17 and Hebrews 1:3
We know that Jesus was a reverent Jew. For this reason, although the Bible doesn't specifically state that James was Jewish, it can safely be assumed that he was since they were brothers, raised in the same Jewish household.
the holy ghost is the spirit of Jesus Christ that will be with us until Jesus returns for His church. the holy ghost is gods spirit . here is the bible reference to state it from a KingJamesVersion bible. Eph 4:3030 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption
There are no verses, but she was not sinless. Only Jesus was. If she were sinless, then she would have been able to die for our sins. The Bible is clear that Jesus is the only one, and the only way to the Father.
Depending upon which part of Christianity answers here, the answer will be different. Strictly speaking, as Christmas is a day assigned by mankind to represent the birthdate of Jesus Christ (which the Bible does not specifically state), then no prophet is 'related' to Christmas. Others in Christianity, believing Jesus was born on Christmas will refer to Isaiah's account in particular as speaking/related to the birth of Christ.
