Jesus does not express any points on marriage and divorce in the Bible. Marriage as an institution even pre-dates Abraham. In fact Kain and Seth, Adam and Eve's surviving children, were married. So the institution pre-dates even formal Judiasm. Since other religions have a form of marriage we can assume that it's origin is more cultural then religious in origin. I would be a safe assumption then, the rules of divorce, are also equally cultural rather then religious. The acceptability and rules of marriage were established prior to Jesus and continue to evolve long after and with little input on Jesus' part, tend to fall into Church traditions rather then direct influence by the Messiah of Christianity. This may be intentional as the message of redemption and fullfillment of God's law had little to do with micro-managing the development of the new\restored faith. Jesus does bless marriage as a sacrament by changing water into wine but that is the only definitive positioning Jesus makes as far as I can recall.

Matthew 5:32- "But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever maries a divorced woman commits adultery." (ESV)

The only reason to divorce your spouse is if they have commited adultery. If you separte for any other reason and get married to someone else, both you and the person who married you has commited adultery. This is the only reason given. You should not divorce your spouse if he/she is an unbeliever, or if you can't get along, or anything like that.

Matthew 19:9-"And I say to you:whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultury."

Mark 10:11-12-"....Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."

In the beginning, when God introduced marriage to the human family(Genesis 2:22-24/Ephesians 5:31), there was no allowance for 'divorce'(Matthew 19:8/Malachi 2:16), but because of humankind's 'hard heartedness', due to imperfection, Moses made allowance in the case of 'something indecent' being found in the mate(Deuteronomy 24:1/Matthew 5:31+32/Mark 10:4/Hebrews 13:4)(illustration: Jeremiah 3:8)

Both these things are not allowed by god.

Divorce is allowed, but not remarriage unless the other party committed adultery, which includes remarrying first.
