The Bible does not directly address this substance.
In my opinion to the question on the virtue on believing, I would say that the virtue is faith. Faith is the substance of what we do NOT see, therefore, we believe only because of our faith. Bible is a great place to begin a search. I do believe that this is the greatest books EVER written.
It means that a substance cannot dissolve in other substance
It doesn't say that. It cannot. The word - biblical - does not appear in the Bible.
They believed that Bible, faith, grace alone are the basis of salvation.
Faith and Love...either or i would say

No, the Bible never says that you cannot help others until you first help yourself.
Some would say, Always. But, it's mainly a matter of faith.
James 2:18 - But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works."James 2:24 - You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.James 2:26 - For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.[Quotes from NKJV]
