The Bible never uses the word christening, but does discuss the idea of dedicating one's child to the Lord. And she (Hannah) made a vow, saying, "O LORD Almighty, if you will only look upon your servant's misery and remember me, and not forget your servant but give her a son, then I will give him to the LORD for all the days of his life, and no razor will ever be used on his head."1 Samuel 1:11 Hannah dedicated her child to Lord, which essential means to submit your child to the will of God and to raise him/her according to the word of God. In fact, Jesus was brought to the temple to be dedicated by his earthly parents. Luke 2:22
It is appropriate to give a small gift for this blessed event. The tradition of giving gifts at a christening has been around for a long time. I would suggest maybe a small bible or some rosary beads.
Yes you can have a christening on a Friday.
Since christening is a religious ceremony, some nice gift ideas are a rosary or a baby's first Bible. If you do not want to give a religious gift, a nice picture frame or linen pillow is a good choice.
"To my special grandchildren on your christening day."
Christening Gowns sells a wide variety of gowns and outfits for baby's first Christening. They sell all the items you may need in order to have a beautiful Christening for your child.
No church that I know of would require a birth certificate for christening and I know many who do not. Christening is a religious service and not a civil service or requirement. There is nothing in the bible that says a birth certificate has to be produced before one is christened (baptised). It would be like telling God that the proof of your existence according to civil law takes precedence over his knowledge of your existence.
The bible doesn't talk about souls...it talks about spirits.
no, not unless it is the first word of the sentence.
no it doesn't
where in the bible are we told that Jesus owned a Honda but did not talk about it
White clothes or a christening dress are generally worn while being baptized because the person is "Fresh like the driven manna" which is a quote from the bible and a codex for the act of baptizing.
