Lot is found in the Old Testament in the book of Genesis.
Genesis11:31 And Terah took his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, his son Abram's wife, and they went out with them from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan; and they came to Haran and dwelt there. He is also in Genesis 13 and 19.

Lot lived in Sodom/Gomorrah which was an evil place. God was going to burn these cities down but Abraham pleaded with God to spare Lot and his family. God sent Men of the Lord to talk to Lot and so Lots family escaped just in time. God told Lot and his family not to look back, but Lots wife did and so she turned into a pillar of salt.
