Q: 17:1: (Translation Sahih International): Exalted is He who took His Servant [Mohammed] by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.
Islamic scholarship in the 9th century had come to the consensus that the "Masjid al-Aqsa" referred to the Temple Mount. There is no mention of "Haram ash-Sharif" (the Arabic term for the Temple Mount) or any form of "Jerusalem" in the Qur'an.
