It is not in the trunk ! Most Fords of this period have the fuel pump in the gas tank. You need to lower the gas tank and remove it, then pull the pump unit out of the tank. -There are many hard parts to this job, removing the hoses (3) is the first one. - Taking off the bolts that hold the tank straps is also not easy,you WILL need an impact wrench. I have done this twice, once in Taurus, once in Aerostar - about a 4-5 hour job.
