Kawasaki introduced fuel injection on the Vulcan line in 2009 with the Vulcan 1700 series. Prior to that, earlier models primarily used carburetors. The shift to fuel injection was part of a broader trend in the motorcycle industry to enhance performance and meet stricter emissions regulations.
The Kawasaki web site says it will be at the dealers in March of 2009. Should list for $16,800.00. Wow I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 has a curb weight of approximately 540 pounds (245 kg). This weight includes all fluids, such as oil and a full tank of gas, making it ready for riding. Determining the horsepower from a known torque and engine rpm is possible due to the following formula:(Torque x Engine speed) / 5,252 = HorsepowerThe Kawasaki website lists the torque for the 2009 Kawasaki Nomad 1700 as 108 lb-ft @ 2,750rpms so considering this...108 x 2750 / 5252 would give 56.5 horsepower. As a comparison the Harley Davidson website lists the 2009 Harley Davidson Road King as having 96.6 lb-ft @ 3,500rpms so considering this...96.6 x 3500 / 5252 would give 64.4 horsepower.Personally I have never driven the Harley Davidson Road King, however I do own the 2009 Kawasaki Nomad 1700...fantastic motorcycle (would not trade it for anything...plan to have it a very long time) and I know the power coming from that engine is quite sufficient to haul myself and my girlfriend easily up a steep incline with plenty of reserve power to accelerate quickly without needing to downshift. I am about 190lbs and she is less... (no idea what she weighs and I am not asking her so I can post it here)...lol
I just talked with Ask Powersports in Columbus OH. The price will be the same as the 08's 12999 for Black and 13199 for the 2 tones.
On the 2009 Vulcan Voyager 1700, the fuel filter is located under the bike, near the fuel tank. It is typically mounted on the frame or near the fuel pump. To access it, you may need to remove the side panels or other components for better visibility and reach. Always consult the owner's manual for specific instructions and safety precautions.
