For many years, Australia's largest tree - or so it was believed to be - was a giant Tasmanian Eucalypt which was burnt in a forestry operation in 2003. It stood 79m tall and had a girth of 20m.
Currently, Australia's five tallest known trees are all in Tasmania's Styx Valley.
