Cabramurra, 1488m
There is no agriculture of any kind in Cabramurra. The town was constructed in the 1950s for the purpose of servicing the workers on the Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme. The town still serves the primary function of housing the many maintenance workers required by the scheme. No agriculture is carried out in the area.
Thredbo and Cabramurra are actually withinKosciuszko National Park, as is the ghost town of Kiandra.
The tiny ski resort town of Perisher Village is the highest town in Australia. Located within the Australian Alps, in the southeast of the continent, it has an elevation of 1721 m above sea level. It is located within Kosciuszko National Park.
