Looking at the engine, it's on the right hand side of the engine, It's silver, has a small diameter pipe coming out of the top and a large diameter pipe going into the side of it

The coolant temperature sending sensor on 1.9L & 2.0L engines (on '96 and earlier) are located on a cooling tube or into the themostat housing (usual position).
The 1998 Ford Fiesta 1.3 liter engine temperature sending unit can be found on the front of the engine. The temperature sending unit will be near the thermostat housing.
Should be at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
Usually in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
Follow the upper Radiator house to the thermostat housing, there's 3 bolts holding it on. Take off the housing, remove the old thermostat, put in the new one and replace the housing. Make sure you drain the radiator first.

Under neath the alternator the are 4 ten or 6 mm in the housing and two pipes coming out of the housing where the thermostat in dont forget to replace the gasket around the housing
