Usually when the Anzac story is mentioned, it is referring to the Gallipoli campaign which occurred in 1915 until January 1916.
It is important because its where they had war and many people lost their lives in Gallipoli

The ANZAC's went to fight in Gallipoli in 1914 or 1915.
The ANZACs were supposed to land on Cape Tepe but ended up landing on what was later known as ANZAC Cove, two kilometres North of the intended landing place.
