Unless of course you mean Salt Lake City, where the headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) is located.
There is no 'holy city' in Mormonism. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) might consider Jerusalem as being holy, since it is the city where much of The Bible takes place. Salt Lake City, Utah is where Church headquarters is located, but the city is not considered holy.
The 'holy city' in Mormonism is Zion, which does not yet exist. Mormons believe that Zion will be established by Jesus Christ when He returns in the Second Coming. For now, Zion is an ambiguous term referring both the Kingdom of God (both currently and during Christ's Millennial reign) and simply those who are pure in heart. Historically, Church members have attempted to establish Zion themselves (such as at Independence, Missouri and Nauvoo, Illinois), but have not be successful.
The site for the Mormon city of "ZION" was and still is Jackson County Missouri.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) does not really have a city that it considers holy. Like all Christians, they refer to Jerusalem and the surrounding area as the 'Holy Land', as much of the Bible takes place there. They also believe in the physical concept of Zion - a New Jerusalem and city of God built at the time of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. They believe that this holy city will be located in the United States. Church headquarters is located in Salt Lake City, but the city is not considered holy.
The Holy Holidays of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) are Christmas and Easter.
Church headquarters for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mormons don't think the city is sacred or holy in any way, but it is where top level leaders of the church live, where church archives are kept, and where most church business occurs.
Kirtland, Ohio was the first place where Church headquarters were located, although the membership did not intend on that becoming 'Zion'. Zion (meaning the holy city) was to be located near Independence, Missouri. After the Mormons were kicked out of Missouri, they attempted to establish Zion in Nauvoo, Illinois. They had to flee Illinois and moved to Salt Lake City.
