Click on the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop. That will open a window that shows what storage devices are available on your computer.
It does - at least it does on my Toshiba laptop. I have an old laptop drive that I now use as an external back-up drive. Windows 7 recognises it as soon as I plug it into a USB port.
Through windows explorer you have to drag and drop to the place that you want it to go
This probably because windows xp is an old windows and runs quite slowly and Windows 7 is up-to-date and can run much faster. Another reason may be, because your Internet explorer on xp is not up-to-date (Internet explorer 8 is the newest) and the windows 7 already has Internet explorer on it. You might want to update the Internet explorer on the xp.

If it is USB, you just stick your mp3 player into your pc/laptop and for Windows, go to Start then click My Computer and your mp3 player should be in Removable Drives.

Use windows security features to limit who may run c:\Windows\System32\mspaint.exe (or the equivalent on your system). In Windows 7, Windows Explorer, find the file, right click, Properties, Security tab.
yes the camera should come up as a removable disk all you have to do is browse the cameras drive to find the images; usually in DCIM folder
Install windows 8 on your new laptop. Simple!
The "laptop internet card" also called a Network Interface Controller (NIC) goes on the bottom of the laptop where there is a slot for the card where there is a removable part on the laptop to get to the motherboard.
