Because of their thick double coat, they do better in cooler climates but most like a cool shaded area but in hot weather according to Cesar Millan The Dog Whisperer who claimed that's where that specific breed always went and thrived in.

They thrive in warm weather with a bit of shade though in my opinion however others would disagree.
They originated in Germany so other's would say that sort of temperature.
