Bridal boutiques, formal wear section of departments stores, and now online stores. Online stores usually have the best selections with more brands and range of sizes and styles. Check the return policy of all the stores though as they all differ widely due to the nature of the dresses, being special occasions and they have a more restrictive return policy.

I buy bridesmaids dresses from a online shop together with my wedding dress, the dresses were shipped from China. I was so worried about it after I knew the dresses were made in China, but when I received the dresses, my mind at ease, my wedding dress is stunning just perfect, I could not have asked for a more stunning perfect dress, it is even more stunning than the picture. The two bridesmaid dresses are both beautiful.

The mother of the bride is wearing a black gown What color should the grooms mother wear. the bridesmaids will be in candy apple?

The mother of the bride is definitely defying tradition by wearing black but this is the 21st century and there are lots of black/white theme weddings. The mother of the groom could wear the traditional beige or champagne to coordinate with the mother's choice of color. I am not sure what "candy apple" means. Is that green? If so, then she could choose a color more in line with the bridesmaids' dresses and wear lime, jade, hunter green or sage. If it candy apple is red, then the MOG could choose red, burgundy, wine, cinnamon.

Can the mother of the groom and the mother of the bride wear the same color?

* The mother of the bride and the mother of the groom do not wear the same outfit. Mothers will wear dresses and they may be different in fashion and color as long as the color of the dress stays within the guidelines of the colors the bride has chosen for her wedding: Example: If the bride's Maid of Honor and Bridesmaids have long or short dresses in a midnight blue then the mothers could wear soft shell pinks; soft blues, etc. The bride or grooms mothers should never wear white or off white. One mother may want to wear a short dress while the other mother may prefer a longer dress. If you can and your Maid of Honor or Bridesmaids are in long dresses see if you can't get your mother and future mother-in-law to wear a long dress as well as it looks better in wedding pictures, but if one refuses it's not worth a possible argument. You can take your Maid of Honor with you and take both mothers to a wedding shop and have a say in what you would like as far as style, but go easy on the moms and realize they may have a good reason for choosing a certain dress to match their body type. If it is a matter of money for one or both of the mothers then rent the dresses.

Who gives the brides mother her flowers at a wedding reception?

Generally the mother of the bride and the groom's mother get their corsages when the bride's; maid of honor; bridesmaids flowers are delivered to the bride's parent's home, but if the bride would like to give her mother a bouquet of flowers personally from her then it should be done in private (at home) or, if you want to give the bouquet of flowers to the mother then also include the future mother-in-law or it is poor etiquette and there could be some hurt feelings by the mother-in-law.

What kind of wedding gift should I give as the boyfriend of the mother of the bride?

Who goes with bride to pick out her dress?

This should be the brides decision but personal circumstances should be taken into account. When I was getting married, I went dress shopping by myself to narrow down my selection. Then I took my mother and my future mother-in-law (her 2 daughters were married at the courthouse with only witnesses present). Afterwards she thanked me for including her and providing her with an experience that she would not otherwise have. Now it's my turn. My only daughter was killed just weeks before we were scheduled to go dress shopping. My son is getting married and his future bride has decided not to include me. She is aware of my feelings but says it is not 'traditional.' That explanation doesn't sit well since their wedding plans are not 'traditional'- my son will be standing with a best-person and not a best-man and my son is actively involved in all the wedding plans. I can say that her decision has tainted the way I think of her now. Advice: Yes, this is your day but please be kind and considerate in your decisions and communications.

How to save on bride dresses?

To save on a bridal gown perhaps a relative has their bridal gown they could lend you. You can also rent bridal gowns from a bridal shop. Sometimes Consignment stores have bridal gowns. If you like a fairly plain bridal gown and there is someone in your family who is a good seamstress then perhaps they may make you your wedding gown.

When the mother of the bride and the mother's extended family live in a different state than the bride and groom what celebration is held for the mother's family who cannot attend the wedding?

There is no celebration held for the mother of the bride's family. Her family could send a telegram of well wishes to the bride and groom and these telegrams are generally read at the wedding reception. Relatives could also telephone well wishes or send a card and a gift. Some young people after they are married may plan their honeymoon in the area of the state of their relatives that could not attend the wedding and it is up to those members of the family to either have a small party of sorts for the newly married couple or they may not.

Should the mother of the groom wear the same color dress as the bride?

A mother of the bride looks best in a color that is complementary to the bride's dress. In doing this, she matches the overall theme and tenor of the wedding itself. A good rule of thumb is to select a color that may be similar to the color of the bridesmaids' dresses. For example, if the bridesmaids' dresses are lavender, a mother of the bride could select an outfit in plum, lilac or light blue. Another good rule of thumb is to select something in a neutral color, such as taupe, brown or navy. It is preferable that the mother-of-the-groom and the mother-of-the-bride should not be in the same color, but rather in colors which coordinate.

Either a mother; mother-in-law; sister or good friend has a bridal shower and does not require a hostess gift. If the bride wishes to thank the hostess she could send a thank you note along with an arrangement of flowers.
