It is not so much the spot - you have to decide whether you want to train the fast way, or the cheap way. The fastest way is to cut gems - but even sapphires, the cheapest, are still expensive to cut. On the other hand, there are several ways you can actually make money from crafting, for example, making rings, tanning leather, or other things.
