Green vegetation, ferns for example, bark perhaps, and if you are keeping him/her as a pet, in a TRANSPARENT LARGE plastic box WITH holes in the top for breathing
The habitat of a snail needs to be warm and moist. They live best in humid environments with plenty of grass to eat.
A land garden is a snail's habitat that is just outside your house. It's in your grass and in your garden. If you do not have a garden or a backyard, you can buy some soil and put it on the bottom of a see through fish tank (not filled with water), then cut some grass up and lay it on the top (not too much grass), then pick some leafs and put them in and then spray it with water every day (when spraying tank with water take snail out). You need to clean your snail's habitat when the leaves and grass starts getting brown. And, rip papers and fruits up and sprinkle over. Hope I have helped.
snails and slugs like to live in wet, dry or moist areas and the conditions are will nothing really but it depends if they live in land or not you'll find them in plants, leaves(decaying leaves), pots or other objects
near corners of your garden and also damp places.

No a snail can't live in a snail.
Snails mostly live in ponds and lakes. Sometimes you can find smaller snails crawling around the bottom of the tree roots in the shade. You will most likely not find a snail around pine trees.
If you have a pet snail, find were your critter is, then, ever so gently, pick him up by his shell then he may emerge from his shell. Remember to wash your hands before and after picking up your snail.
