The transmission filter is located under the transmission on a 2002 Hyundai Sonata. it is under the transmission drain pan.
Per my local Hyundai Shop this model does not have a serviceable filter, therefore you only drain and fill this transsmission.
where is the transmission frain plug on a 2006 santa fe locate
That is a very good question. Now can you tell me what you are wanting to drain? All drain plugs are located on the bottom of the component you are to drain.
The filter is inside the transmission and is not to be serviced. Just drain fluid and replace.
I bought the Chilton's manual that says you can replace the transmission filter on an 2002 Santa Fe. You cannot, the filter is located in the transmission and per my dealer does not need to be replaced. Good news, there is a transmission drain plug it's a bolt roughly 2-3 inches in size (you can't miss it) so you can drain that old fluid. Do not remove the transmission pan if you don't have to. It doesn't need to be removed to drain the fluid and is a pain to clean and reinstall. However, it is recommended to use Hyundai fluid. It costs $2 more per quart but more affordable than a new transmission. 2/
The fuel filter, is located inside of the gas tank. You will need to drain the fuel from the gas tank in order to change the fuel filter.
Where is my drain ncock for my 2004 Hyundai Accent?
Under the chassis on the passenger side you'll find the bolt. Make sure you replace the silver "crush" washer after you drain the oil. Also, I highly recommend that you use hyundai's oil filter only as other manufacturer's filter (fram) uses a slightly bigger rubber gasket that attaches to the canister. I've compared the two rings side by side and Fram's is slightly bigger. Using Fram's may cause oil to leak onto your engine block. Pay the extra $2 and get the Hyundai one (it also comes with the crush washer for your drain plug). You'll appreciate it later.
if lying underneath car engine oil filter is on passenger side in front of engine and oil drain plug is toward rear of car about 1 foot behind oil filter.
If it is wet from water, I would suspect the drain for the condensation water is plugged with crud disturbed while changing the cabin filter. If it is wet from engine coolant, I would suspect a leaky heater core.
