The oil filter on a 2006 Scion tC is located on passenger side directly behind the front bumper, and beside the tire. It's an easy reach and can be seen just by jacking the car up a few inches.

That is the oil filter
The 2006 Ford fiesta oil filter is located on the back side of the engine, near the oil pan. The filter can be best viewed from below the engine.

The 2006 six-cylinder Chevrolet Malibu oil filter is located on the rice side of the engine, near the bottom. The oil filter can be best viewed from beneath the engines.
The oil filter is located on the side of the engine near the top of the tire and may require the oil filter wrench to loosen turn the oil filter counter clockwise to remove it
from 2004 and newer they do not have oil filters, your 2006 does not use an oil filtrer.
