You get under the car and remove the pan on the bottom of the transmission. You need a large container to catch the fluid. The plastic lid from a garbage can works well. Once the pan is removed, you will see the filter bolted into place with two bolts. Replace old with new. Retighten to specification with a torque wrench. Now the important part: The old gasket must be removed from both the mating surface of the transmission and from the pan using a gasket scraping tool. Do a good job of this to avoid leaks. Wipe out pan with a paper towel. Buy replacement filter and neopreme gasket at NAPA. They sell the good stuff that won't leak. Retorque pan to specifications. Add fluid.
