I was looking at a drawing on one of Fords websites and it shows the
engine block heater for a 2002 Ford F-350 , 7.3 liter Diesel engine , takes
the place of one of the engine expansion plugs on the drivers side of the
engine , near the rear of the engine
If that 55 originally came with a small block 265, the 73 350 would drop in. If that 55 had a straight six, nothing would bolt up to the 73 350.
Yes, pipe plugs from a hardware store will work just fine.
First find what 73% of 350 is. 73% of 350 is 255.5. Now find 25% of 255.5. 25% of 255.5 is 63.875. 63.875 is 25% of 73% when the total is 350.

the 305 isn't a big block, as far s i know. for the most part small block engines have the same bolt pattern at the bell housing. to ck my answer try to search for bell housing bolt patterns ect. good luck. Actually the 305 v6 IS a big block.... Actually in 1960 in Chevy/ Gmc trucks they started putting a v6 in trucks it was a v6 305 Big Block. I have one in my 1963 GMC long-bed. It is a rare motor and hard to find parts for.Yes you can use the 63 transmission and bolt it up to the 73 350.I am putting a automatic turbo 350 in mine and it bolts right up.
