When they get back the church is on fire. Ponyboy and johnny go back inside to save the people trapped inside. while inside johnny is crushed by a big piece of board and hurts his back. dally pulls them out and go to the hospital in Oklahoma. while in the hospital johnny is in critical condition and pony is there with a few cuts and bruises. johnny has third degree burns. later the greasers beat the socs in a rumble and johnny dies. dally robs a store then is killed by the fuzz.
