That is the dash light dimmer control switch.. Rheostat = Dimmer. Bright to dim.
could be the alternator is about to go out
If you know where to change the odometer/tripmeter display... Instead of pushing that control, turn it counter-/clockwise to dim/brighten the dash lights.
There should be a roll switch right next to your light switch on your dash to dim the lights with.
On many cars it was built into the headlight switch, which was a knob on the dashboard, you pull it outward to turn the headlights on, you twist it clockwise to make the dash lights brighter, counterclockwise to dim them.
You probably don't need to change the dash lights. On the headlight panel there is a control to dim or brighten the dash lights. This same control allows you to turn them completely off. I don't remeber on that particular car if the light switch rotates or has a separate switch but all cars have this feature.
on the left side of dash board there is a little buttom push it in it will pop out turn it to either brighten dim on turn on interior lights
If your interior lights are dimming, either your battery or starter could be failing. You should have your car checked.
The whole DIM and software. (dim= drivers information module)
There should be a resistor switch next to the head light switch if it's on the dash board, should be a separate switch on the dash anyway. some roll like a wheel, good luck
It stands for Dash Integration Module
A blown fuse, you will find the fuse box on the passanger side of the dash board, open the door and their will be a panel covering the fuse box.Pull the panel off and replace the fuse that says REAR PRK LP if its blown..
