Dinosaur National Monument spans the Utah/Colorado border just north of U.S. Hwy 40. It includes approximately 220,000 acres with two major rivers, the Green and the Yampa, and their canyons. The Utah side of the park is where dinosaur fossils are found with the Colorado side of the park consisting mostly of scenic canyons and wildlife... with only U.S. 40 connecting the two sides for access.
The Badlands in Badlands National Park contain reptile fossils (including alligator fossils), but do not contain dinosaur fossils. Note that "Badlands" refers to a type of geographical feature, which is not only found in Badlands National Park.
