In The Bible... Satan is symbolized, not as "A" dragon -- but "THE" Dragon:

"drakon"... probably from an alternate form of derkomai (to look); a fabulous kind of serpent (perhaps as supposed to fascinate): KJV--dragon." (Strong's Definitions; Strong's ref.#1404)

"...there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against THE Dragon; and THE Dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And THE GREAT DRAGON was cast out, that Old Serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Rev.12:7-9; see also Rev.20:1-3)

The use of "dragon" in the Old Testament is from different Hebrew words associated with the "jackal, adder or serpent" of some kind.

Dragons are not mentioned in the Bible, except for the Book of Revelations. Typically the term dragon in that book is used as a metaphor for the Devil.
