its next to gas pedal on the side kick panel near drivers door.
The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) on the 1999 Chevy Malibu is located under the dash on the driver's side of the vehicle. It is just to the left of the steering wheel above the brake pedal.
it should be above the fuseboard behind the light switch. its the green one top left. just changed the relays on my corsa b but mine is a 99 theres one on the opposite side too, take out the glove shelf/box the panel next to the door hides more relays
An ECU is essentially the brain for a 1999 GMC Suburban. Without an ECU the truck will not be able to operate at all.

I am pretty sure it has, since my Astra 97 has it too... (thoroughly tested this winter, works great :-) )
I have a 99 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2 4x4 and it was stalling for no apparent reason, I finally gave up and changed out the ecu (the computer). If your having the same issue a quick fix is to turn your ignition off, then back on and leave it on, disconnect the wiring harness from the ecu unit, then plug them back in.(The ecu unit is on the passenger side firewall under the hood). You will see your gauges come back on. If the gauges are not on, you have to redo the process. JWFryer
