It is located at the top of the fuel tank, and you must take the fuel tank down to get to it. If you are replacing it, make sure to check the hoses leading to it; on my '89, there was a hole in one of the lines, causing the fuel pump to try to compensate for the loss of pressure, killing my fuel pump in the process over a long time.
P.S.: The major symptom of a dying fuel pump is while you are trying to accelerate, the engine starts to buck wildly and uncontrollably until you let go of the gas.
