Depends on the size of the truck. A 1500 shortbed holds 26 gallons. A 4500/5500 holds 52 gallons.
Code 52 means the system is compensating "full lean" because the oxygen sensor has been telling the ECU that the system is running rich and needs less fuel. This code comes up when the system can't take away anymore fuel (it has preset limits). It could be alot of things causing the problem, unfortunately I can't tell you any one thing to check.
