As far as I know the GEM ( Generic Electronic Module ) controls the 4x4 on the 1995 Ford Explorer and I believe that is in the center stack of the dash behind and to the left of the radio
I believe that is in the center stack of the dash , behind and to the left of the radio
"Generic Electronics Module" It is used on 1995 and later models according to my Haynes manual.
As far as I know , the 1995 Ford Explorer doesn't have a SEPARATE module for the 4 WD . That is also handled by the GEM ( Generic Electronic Module ) and I believe that is in the center stack of the dash and that you have to remove the radio to actually change it
In a 2000 Ford Explorer Limited with a 5.0L engine, the GEM (Generic Electronic Module) is located under the dashboard on the driver's side, typically mounted on the fuse panel or near the steering column. It is a small, rectangular module that manages various electrical functions, including the power windows. To access it, you may need to remove the lower dash panel. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions and safety precautions.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I believe that the 4x4 Control Trac system on a 1995 Ford Explorer does not have a separate control module I believe the 4x4 system is controlled by the GEM ( Generic Electronic Module ) and that it is located in the center stack of the dash near the radio
To reset the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) on a 2002 Ford Explorer, disconnect the vehicle's battery by removing the negative terminal for about 15 minutes. This will allow the module to clear any stored error codes and reset its functions. After the time has elapsed, reconnect the battery terminal and start the vehicle to ensure the GEM has reset properly. If issues persist, further diagnostics may be necessary.
it is located under the drivers side seat
Where is the ignition module 97 explorer
I believe the GEM is located in the center stack of the dash , remove the radio to gain access if it needs to be changed
I believe the generic electronic module ( 5.0 L - 1996 to 2001 ) is located behind the radio and to the left - disconnect your negative battery cable and then remove your radio to gain access
I believe the generic electronic module (GEM) controls the operation of the warning chimes along with warning lamps and the operation of several other features on your Explorer.
