The cause is a GM design flaw in the blend door actuators. The repair is an updated design control head which takes into account warpage of the blend doors themselves. As far as I know the updated part is only available at the dealer.
Cold air return vents are the ones on the wall
If the AC is Blowing cold and turn off and on, the AC/heater control switch is bad. Replace it on eBay for around fifty dollars. Work great now.
1. You have a bad compressor or. 2. You have bad compressor clutch or. 3. You have electrical issues or. 4. You have a bad drier and expansion block.
Should be 30 or 32 psi COLD (before it's been driven) or I usually set them at 35 when they're warmed up. DO NOT set them to the max psi on the sidewall.
if there is a lot of snow or ice on these vents located at the bottom of the wind shield under the wipers that could be the problem if you live in a cold environment.
to keep the plant cold
I would check your Ignition Module. That's the first place to look.
the middle vents only supply air from the ac unit using a separate in dash fan. the floor and defrost vents come only from the heater
The a/c - heater controller is out...........
Sorry, I do not have an answer to your question, but I'm having the same issue with my 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. Theheat is working on the passenger side, but blowing cold air on the drivers side. Go figure, I'm usually the only person in the car. Have you found out anything yet? I dunno if this will help, but i had the exact same problem. i found out a "30a fuse" was missing for the air pump under my fuse box near the battery. i bought the fuse at autozone. When i plugged that in and started my heater again, it fixed it right up. I've also read rumors around the internet that if you leave the doors open and disconnect the negative the temp control will reset itself. (didn't work for me though and locked my radio).
