they are sleeping in the Lord. (Resting In Peace)
The Bible says nothing about the human spirit being immortal. In every instance of reference to the human spirit, it says that it is something IN us. "...there is a spirit IN man..." (Job 32:8). "...the spirit WITHIN me constraineth me." (Job 32:18) "...renew a right spirit WITHIN ME." (Ps.51:10) "...when my spirit was overwhelmed WITHIN me..." (Ps.142:3). "...the Lord, which... formeth the spirit of man WITHIN him..." (Zech.12:1). "...what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is IN HIM..." (I Cor.2:11). "...the spirit that DWELLETH IN US lusteth to envy..." (James 4:5). All the Bible says about it is that it is the human intellect... the "mind." "...be renewed in the spirit of your MIND..." (Eph.4:23). But, the Bible does say that at death... the spirit: "...shall return unto God who gave it." (Eccle.12:7) The Bible says that we are unconscious at death (Eccle.9:5-10)... indicating that the spirit works in conjunction with the human brain. So, if the spirit returns to God at death... it's apparent that it is preserved with Him in some way that He returns to whatever body we resurrect in for Judgment Day. It is also evident that our spirit is what God saves in the Judgment. "...deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that THE SPIRIT MAY BE SAVED in the Day of the Lord Jesus." (I Cor.5:5) We don't know for sure. So far, no observation has been made of any spirit and there is no evidence for them either. Like all spiritual or religious ideas, it comes down to faith; if you believe we have spirits, then we do for you. If not then we don't.

Well. There could be a human spirit (ghost). They are usually harmless unless they had a violent death, but can become annoying. The opposite is an inhuman spirit. They enjoy misery and pain.
The Human Spirit is that spirit that enters the body of an unborn child just before it is born. It is said that when the child first moves in the womb that is when the spirit enters the child. That same spirit will leave the body at death and return to that home from where first came to await the resurrection, when it will be reunited with that same body. The body and spirit having fulfilled its purpose here on earth. Human spirit is inspired soul. When a child is born, the body is devoid of soul and spirit. However, the child is born with God's gift of ability to think, feel and act. With the Holy Spirit residing in the body, the child begins to fill its own soul and later, its spirit out of the soul.
Death is part of living and is taught that it is another process which the human soul must experience. Westerners believe that death is an end. Mexicans believe it is a continuation of life but in the spirit form.
The "spirit" is not tangible and thus not truly "located" in the human body. "Spirit" is more of a concept that refers to the personality, mind, ect. of a person. Actual beliefs in intangible constructs like this came before it was known the brain determines behavior.
to be honest the warmest part of a human body before death is in the anus and vaginal opening/ urethra.

I believe you meant, "inhabit". Since this phenomenon cannot be accounted for scientifically (as there are no measurable criteria for the human spirit) the closest answer would be "reincarnation"; the belief that a spirit or soul is reborn after death in another body. If you're referring to the property that the human spirit has if it can in fact inhabit multiple bodies you might want to narrow your belief. Buddhists may have a different characteristic or aspect of the human soul that they refer to when discussing the capacity for rebirth, while Christians most certainly have a different term for the soul's rebirth.
No, religion is a system of beliefs and practices; human spirit is a quality that humans allegedly have (if you believe).
