I don't know of a verse that says that but The Bible says do not murder

Exo 20:13 "Do not commit murder.

Murder/self murder is the same, it is sin and sin will one day be judged. Unless you have accepted Christ's sacrifice as payment for your sin then you will be judged and found guilty and will go to everlasting death.

A:

The Bible teaches that because of Adam's sin we are all sinners by nature and as such are not fit to be in God's presence: Romans 5:12 - "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" and Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God", see also Ephesians 2:3 "among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest"

But God has provided salvation even to the greatest and the chiefest of sinners, so that none have to perish: 1Timothy 1:15 - "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." 2Peter 3:9 - "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

So then we are all sinners, and we all deserve to go to hell, there is no such thing as an unpardonable sin, any sin is unacceptable in the sight of a holy God, and God has provided a way of salvation for all: 1John 1:7-9 - "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." There is only one reason for a person to go to hell, and it's because they have not accepted God's offer of salvation: John 3:19 - "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil" Notice here, it is not because their deeds were evil that men were condemned, but because their deeds were evil they loved darkness rather than light.

Another Answer:

First, the Bible doesn't teach a soul goes to eternal suffering and damnation called hell by most in Christianity today. This is more in line with Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost books. The Bible teaches the incorrigible, unrepentant will face the 2nd Death in the Lake of Fire - physical humans become ashes - no longer existing.

Second, though suicide or self-murder is not defined in the Scripture, it does speak of people who did commit suicide like King Saul, his armor bearer, Judas, and a few others. They broke the 5th Commandment found in Exodus 3:20: "You shall not murder." All belongs to God like Ezekiel 18:4 states. So murder of self or another is sin and there is only one 'unpardonable sin' which this is not:

1 John 1:8-9New King James Version (NKJV)

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We each have one chance to fully accept God's salvation through His Son's shed blood for all mankind. He will give us His Holy Spirit upon repentance and baptism (laying on of hands from His Church's minister). After receiving God's Holy Spirit and having the Father and Son live within us, begetting us into the Family of God, should one discount this amazing gift and go back to the ways of this world, there is no other sacrifice that can cover these sins ( Hebrews 10:26). This is unpardonable but all other sins may be pardoned:

Matthew 12:31New King James Version (NKJV) The Unpardonable Sin31 "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.

Should Christians carry firearms?

There is nothing in the Bible that precludes a Christian from practicing self defense. And in fact, the Bible says something about protecticg your house. People will sometimes say that the 6th commandment says you should never kill, but almost all scholars agree that the correct translation is never commit murder. "Killing" and "Murder" are not interchangeable terms...each term means something different.

Is taking ones own life a sin and if so can a person who takes their own life be forgiven and enter heaven?

In taking your own life you are turning your back the one of the best things God has given us, the very gift of life itself. In the bible it says thou shalt not murder (the ten commandments). so therefore it is a sin to commit murder or suicide. However it is worse to commit suicide, because there is no time to be forgiven. By commiting suicide you have commited murder with no spare time for forgiveess. If you commit murder you have time for remorse or forgiveness.

Among others, many people find state murder or capital punishment immoral. Like abortion, there are very strong feelings on both sides and no easy answers. The Bible says 'thou shall not commit murder' but it also says 'an eye for an eye' This is probably the most hotly debated subject where killer Ted Bundy is concerned.
